The National Center for Events (NEC) has announced the start of the Jeddah Season 2022, which will run from early May to June. Further information regarding the season’s activity zones will be revealed during a news conference on April 9th.
Jeddah Season is comeing after the success of Riyadh Season, which drew over 15 million visitors over the course of five months to 13 entertainment venues.
Through the development of innovative attractions and world-class entertainment events, Saudi Arabia is currently presenting itself as a major global destination with international appeal. The seaside city of Jeddah, long considered Saudi Arabia’s cultural center, is now at the forefront of Vision 2030 to boost the Kingdom’s tourism. It stands as a tourism destination with diversified options for tourists from across the world. In addition, the Jeddah Season, an exciting calendar of events that celebrates the finest in music, art, and culture, is broadening this dynamic destination’s worldwide appeal to a larger audience. Jeddah Season will return in 2022 after a two-year absence owing to COVID-19 constraints.
In 2019, the inaugural Jeddah Season took place in the seaside city, attracting millions of tourists from around the Kingdom and abroad. The 1st edition of the Jeddah Season, which took place from June 8 to July 18, 2019, aimed to establish the city as the Kingdom’s tourist and entertainment hub in the international world. The 1st edition also promised Saudis expanding prospects and a bright future for next generations. Visitors had multiple options when it came to entertainment, relaxation, and thrills in the form of music, art, culture, and sports.
Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 events were canceled as part of Saudi authorities’ preventative precautions. The decision was made in order to combat the infection and limit its spread. As per the Jeddah Season’s management, visitors’ health should come first and be prioritized in order for them to have a rich experience.
Jeddah Season 2022
The second edition of Jeddah Season has a fresh look, with a motto that reads “Ayamana Al-Helwa”, which translates to “Our Beautiful Days”. The new identity also reflects Jeddah’s richness of cultural, historical, tourism, and entertainment components. This is in addition to offering a variety of alternatives for Jeddah inhabitants and tourists, and promoting the city as a regional tourism attraction.
The NEC aims to achieve Saudi Vision 2030’s growth and economic goals by expanding the event industry to include all forms of entertainment, sports, tourism, and culture. The NEC also aspires to produce similar events like Jeddah Season that will help to boost the national economy and society’s vitality. Along with the Jeddah Season, the 2nd edition of Riyadh Season is set to launch in April. Collectively the Festive Seasons of Saudi Arabia is going to boost the non religious tourism in Saudi Arabia and contribute to the 2030 aim.
