These Mega Hotels In Saudi Arabia Will Be Soon Ready To Host Guests

In August, the Kingdom restarted international tourism without the need of quarantine for vaccinated tourists across locations such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Ula. Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s airline service, Flynas, in November 2021 announced that they would be launching direct flights from UAE and Kuwait to Al-Ula. Tourism in Saudi Arabia is expected to bloom once COVID restrictions are completely relaxed. In the meantime, the mega hotels in Saudi Arabia are getting ready to welcome tourists in 2022. Here is a list of a few of the most luxurious hotels that are set to start operations later this year.

Upcoming Mega Hotels in Saudi Arabia

1. The Banyan Tree, AlUla

Launching in Q3/Q4 of 2021, Banyan Tree Al-Ula is situated in the Asher Valley, close to Al-Ula city. Due to its location, each room in the resort will provide beautiful views of red sand and rock formations in the valley. Located in the eco-tourism parts of the Kingdom, the resort is set to offer a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Besides the luxurious rooms and amenities, the hotel houses three onsite restaurants serving Arabian, Thai and international cuisines.

2. Habitas AlUla Resort, AlUla

Opened in Q4, 2021, Habitas AlUla Resort is an eco-friendly resort. It will offer mesmerizing landscapes and acquainting guests with the rich heritage of Saudi Arabia. The hotel is conveniently located near various ancient and cultural sites like Hegra, AlUla’s Old Town and more. The resort boasts attention to the minutest details with sustainable villas, musical ambiance, preserved artifacts, wellness facilities, adventure sports, and delectable food.

3. Voco Jeddah North, Jeddah

Set to launch in Q3 of 2022, Voco Jeddah North is close to the new Jeddah Airport featuring 145 rooms. With spacious rooms, an outdoor pool, a gymnasium and a spa, the hotel will offer an enriching upscale experience. The hotel has around 1,710 sq m of banqueting and meeting space. It is in close proximity to Obhur Corniche, Jeddah Seasons Square, Kingdom City, Alexandria beach and more. The location of the hotel will make it an excellent staying option to boost tourism in Jeddah.

4. The Red Sea Project

Expanding in 28,000 sq km on the Red Sea coast, the Red Sea project will be ready to open its first hotel by Q4 2022. The island promises to provide a unique experience to visitors looking for excellent resorts, island getaways, desert adventures and mountain treks. Also, the Red Sea Shipwreck excavation site is going to be a top attraction here. The Red Sea development company announced plans to open 9 new luxury hotels in the first phase of the mega project. The first phase of the project consists of 16 such under development hotels launching in Q4 of 2022 and Q1 of 2023.

The hotels include big brands such as SLS Red Sea, Red Sea Edition, St. Regis Red Sea Resort, Grand Hyatt Red Sea, Raffles Red Sea, Six Senses Southern Dunes, Jumeriah Hotels and Resort, Fairmont Red sea and InterContinental Red Sea. Other remarkable hotels to open in Q2 of 2022 are the Holiday Inn Riyadh, Crowne Plaza Makkah Beban, the Business District, Holiday Inn Jeddah Corniche, Hilton Riyadh Olaya and more.

Saudi Authorities are highly active in promoting safe international tours and reviving the Covid-19 affected travel industry. Consequently, the launch of these mega-hotels in Saudi Arabia will give a boost to Saudi Tourism after the hope given by Covid-19 Vaccines.
